Yourcopay

Creative Strategy

The price was always there. I made it visible.

Yourcopay

Copay promises upfront healthcare pricing — but the promise was buried below the fold. This is a redesign that puts the number a worried patient is looking for within five seconds of landing.

Healthcare pricing is opaque on purpose. That makes people anxious before they ever book.

People don't shop for an MRI the way they shop for shoes. They arrive scared — facing a bill they can't predict, on a site that asks them to sign up, choose a plan, or read a mission statement before showing a single number.

Copay's entire value is transparency. So the core design failure is simple to name: the homepage talks about transparency instead of demonstrating it. The fix is to lead with the thing everyone came for — a price.

01 — Who I designed for

The anxious price-checker

DM

Dana M. · 34 · high-deductible plan

"I just want to know what this is going to cost me before I walk in. Why is that so hard to find out?"

Got a referral for an MRI. Her deductible isn't met, so the cost is hers. She wants one thing: a believable number, fast, before she commits.

Persona synthesized for this exercise from common high-deductible-plan pain points; not from formal user interviews.

02 — Research

Where the current journey breaks down

A mapped journey of Dana's first visit — and the moment her trust slips.

  • Arrive: Lands hopeful — "finally, transparent pricing."
  • Scan: Sees a value statement, not a price. Starts scrolling to find the tool.
  • Hunt: Asked to pick a plan / sign up before any number appears. Friction.
  • Decide: Either commits effort or bounces to call the provider directly.

Competitive teardown

Compared against other price-transparency tools. The strongest ones surface a sample price instantly; weaker ones gate it behind sign-up.

Key insight

Trust in a pricing tool is established the moment it shows you a real number with no strings. Delay that, and the promise feels hollow.

Design principle

"Show, then ask." Demonstrate value with a live price before requesting anything from the user.

03 — Outcome

What I'd measure

A redesign is a hypothesis. Here's how I'd know it worked.

  • 5sTarget time-to-first-price, from landing — down from a multi-step hunt.
  • 0Steps required before seeing a real number. Show, then ask.
  • ↑42%Search-to-result completion rate, tracked against the current baseline.

Pulse Technologies

Web Design

Modern technology needs a modern identity.

Pulse Technologies

Pulse Technologies is a Rocky Mountain leader in unified communications and structured cabling. But their legacy late-90s website was holding back their modern image. This is a redesign focusing on clean aesthetics, a new iconography language, and a timeless feel.

A late-90s digital presence for a cutting-edge technology partner.

Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Pulse Technologies has been installing and servicing Communications Solutions, Audio Solutions, Security Camera systems, WiFi solutions, and Structured Cabling systems since 2005.

However, their website was built in the late 90's. It was dated and failed to represent the modern, high-tech nature of their actual work. The company needed a visual revitalization to meet the expectations of its modern clientele.

Dated Interface

The legacy website architecture made a cutting-edge B2B tech company look out of touch with current standards.

Timeless Needs

They didn't just need a trendy reskin; they needed a clean, timeless design system that would age gracefully.

Visual Language

Their varied product categories lacked a cohesive iconography language and a unified color system derived from their logo.

The impact

By updating their visual identity, Pulse Technologies achieved:

  • Modernized: Brand perception matching their high-tech capabilities.
  • Unified: A new cohesive iconography and color system.
  • Timeless: A clean design language built to last.

Multivoice

Art Direction

Iconic wireless systems for rigorous environments

MULTIVOICE

MULTIVOICE™ enhances the human experience. We enable groups to BE HEARD™ in real-time while they work or play. Hence, work becomes safer, effectiveness increases, and efficiency rises, while play also becomes more playful, engaging, and memorable. We do this by delivering iconic wireless systems that enable simultaneous, hands-free group communications among on-the-go individuals in rigorous environments.

Design System Implementation

As a contractor for the company, my task was to implement a design system that took scientific jargon and translated it to be understandable by coaches and athletic departments. The software and technology behind MULTIVOICE is years ahead of the game, and they are slowly taking the industry by storm on the football fields, basketball courts, and baseball diamonds.

Art Direction & Coordination

My responsibilities included a coordination of photoshoots that simulated real world coaching scenarios where the product was shown on its functionality during game day. Photos and videos were utilized to showcase the product's capabilities and how it looks on a coach on the sidelines.

Whether providing cutting-edge avionics, expert maintenance, or high-quality parts, EWA ensures every plane is ready for takeoff safely and efficiently.

Spudtoddos

Brand & Digital Experience

SpudToddos is a local restaurant that serves baked/mashed potatoes, as well as French fries, with a twist. In my continuing role as the company's on-contract principal designer, I worked with and assisted the logo designer to finalize the restaurant's logo, and then created the company's brand.

SpudToddos is a beloved local restaurant known for their highly customizable loaded baked potatoes. They needed a digital presence that matched their energetic brand and streamlined their complex ordering process.

However, their web presence felt dated and the online ordering flow for highly customizable items (like building your own spud) was cumbersome. The legacy website lacked the vibrant, fun personality of the restaurant, making the digital experience feel uninspired.

Complex Ordering

Customizing a loaded potato requires clear, intuitive choices. The existing UX made modifiers and add-ons confusing for mobile users.

Visual Language

They lacked a cohesive color system and typography that reflected their fresh ingredients and warm, inviting atmosphere. The revitalized color palette, photography integration, and the clean, intuitive UI applied to their menu and ordering flow elevated the experience.

Alder Sales Force

Alder Sales Force – Engagement & Creative Strategy

Role: Marketing Director

Overview

Alder Security is a door-to-door company that sells consumer home/video security systems. They employ a sales force of representatives that go out either year-round or in the summer. As the Marketing Director, my team and I engaged sales representatives through competitions, incentives, and merchandise to increase sales production by gamifying the sales process. Under my direction, the marketing department also leveraged Alder Sales Force’s social media account for recruitment and to highlight the company’s representatives.

Why Alder Sales Force

Under my creative direction, I guided the video producer and editorial team in crafting compelling video content that brought company-sponsored events to life and strengthened our presence on social media for recruitment. These stories were designed to attract talent, build excitement around the brand, and were also repurposed internally to energize sales competitions and capture the momentum of company-hosted events.

Kamaka Air

Omnichannel Campaigns & HubSpot Automation

Kamaka Air – Comprehensive Digital Strategy & Design

Role: Marketing Consultant

1. Overview

As a Marketing Consultant for Kamaka Air, the primary objective was to modernize the brand's digital presence and streamline its marketing operations to drive better engagement. The project required a comprehensive, ground-up approach to transform how the company connected with its audience. This involved taking full ownership of the website's UI/UX redesign, establishing a robust CRM infrastructure, and producing high-quality multimedia content that bridged the gap between digital platforms and traditional broadcasting channels.

2. Omnichannel Campaigns & HubSpot Automation

To build a cohesive customer journey, a dynamic omnichannel strategy was deployed. This phase focused on creating targeted, high-conversion email and social media campaigns, entirely synchronized and managed through HubSpot. By utilizing HubSpot's advanced automation capabilities, lead nurturing workflows and customer communications were streamlined for maximum efficiency.

The campaign scope deliberately extended beyond standard digital touchpoints. It incorporated specialized video editing to produce polished, broadcast-ready assets for television. This ensured that whether a customer saw a TV spot, received an automated email, or engaged with a social media post, the brand messaging and visual identity remained perfectly aligned.

3. Applied Solution

The final solution delivered a unified, scalable marketing ecosystem for Kamaka Air. The newly designed, user-centric website acted as the central hub—optimized for intuitive navigation and seamlessly integrated with HubSpot to capture and manage inbound leads.

Paired with the automated email sequences, strategic social media rollouts, and broadcast-quality video content, this completely overhauled infrastructure provided the company with a modern marketing engine. The cohesive system not only elevated the brand's aesthetic but established a sustainable framework for ongoing customer acquisition and retention.
